The Lake
Our beautiful tree lined estate lake has depths from 2 ft at the shallowest part to 13ft at the dam wall. With a good clean bottom of mostly clay and being relatively flat and firm it is possible to fish most of the lake without the need to spend hours with a marker float. Typically of the lakes in this region it was dug with a shallow end slowly graduating to a deeper water at the dammed end of the lake with the ability to drain the lake for nettings. Being very open in shape the lake is not at all peggy and all the swims produce similar amounts of Carp with spots that will fish throughout the week.
For most of the year water flow from the surrounding stream is good and even in the driest of summers the water maintains it's level with good levels of oxygen.
The images below are of the lake during a drain down, showing the formation of the lake bed and
where the marginal and rocks around the island end.
